APRIL Book Club meeting will be held this Friday the 17th starting at 4 PM at Back Roads Lounge at 8460 Birchwood Court Suite 900, Johnston, IA (east of Raising Canes Chicken Fingers). We are starting a new tradition this month. There will be a "Book Box" where Rotarians can place a voluntary cash donation (cost of one refreshment?) that we will collect and accumulate until end of the year when the amount collected will be donated to Capitol View Elementary to purchase books!!! Blank Park Zoo President/CEO Anne Shimerdla and her team have committed to a Behind the Scenes Tour for DMAM Members on June 17 at 4:00 p.m. followed immediately by VIP early entrance to Zoo Brew at 5:30 p.m. Tour participants are expected to attend Zoo Brew. Behind the Scenes Tour Arrival: Discovery Center no later than 3:50 p.m. Time: 4:00 p.m. sharp. Adults only. Closed-toe shoes required. Weather: Tour may be rescheduled for severe weather. RSVP deadline: Tuesday, June 9, by noon to [email protected]. Tour highlights include the Eastern black rhino barn, giraffe barn at feeding time, coral conservation, and Blanding’s turtle conservation. The Zoo has generously waived the regular $150 per person tour fee. Appreciation donations may be made directly to Blank Park Zoo: general (Donation — Blank Park Zoo) or animal specific (Animal Wish List). Zoo Brew Time: VIP early entrance at 5:30 and ending at 9:30 p.m. Photo ID required. Adults only. Drinks available for purchase. DMAM members’ Admission paid by Social Committee yearend funds.
