    Blank Park Zoo President/CEO Anne Shimerdla and her team have committed to a Behind the Scenes Tour for DMAM Members on June 17 at 4:00 p.m. followed immediately by VIP early entrance to Zoo Brew at 5:30 p.m. Tour participants are expected to attend Zoo Brew. Behind the Scenes Tour Arrival: Discovery Center no later than 3:50 p.m. Time: 4:00 p.m. sharp. Adults only. Closed-toe shoes required. Weather: Tour may be rescheduled for severe weather. RSVP deadline: Tuesday, June 9, by noon to [email protected]. Tour highlights include the Eastern black rhino barn, giraffe barn at feeding time, coral conservation, and Blanding’s turtle conservation. The Zoo has generously waived the regular $150 per person tour fee. Appreciation donations may be made directly to Blank Park Zoo:  general (Donation — Blank Park Zoo) or animal specific (Animal Wish List). Zoo Brew Time: VIP early entrance at 5:30 and ending at 9:30 p.m. Photo ID required. Adults only. Drinks available for purchase. DMAM members’ Admission paid by Social Committee yearend funds.     Join us! Club volunteers are needed every third Friday following the regular Rotary meeting to make sandwiches for The Connection Cafe. The Connection Cafe serves lunch five days a week to homeless and low income individuals and families in downtown Des Moines. Learn more at their website https://theconnectioncafe.org/.

    Our next club social is Thursday June 25th at The R&R Westfield Building in West Des Moines. We will be celebrating Zach's year as Club President and celebrating the club's 35th year anniversary! R&R Westfield Building:  1080 Jordan Creek Pkwy,West Des Moines, IA 50266 Party located on the West Side Patio Event Details We have reserved the back patio space and will have a live band (Saints & Sinners) There will be some tables and chairs for seating. I'd recommend bringing along your favorite lawn chair. - Rotary Event starts at 4 PM and runs to 8 PM - Food (Snappy's BBQ) - Drinks will be provided.
